Supporting construction with procurement and supply best practice

Construction Senior Leaders Group

Procurement teams in the construction sector have come under more pressure during the Covid-19 crisis, to manage labour shortages, make sites safe and mitigate disrupted supply chains.

In order that we could give construction specific, world-class procurement support, we established the CIPS Construction Leaders Group. Made up of senior leaders from major firms, they work with our experts to drive excellence in construction procurement and supply.

Supporting construction post Grenfell

Following the tragic fire at Grenfell Tower in June 2017, the subsequent inquiry highlighted some inadequacies in the construction sector.

CIPS led a Working Group set up to tackle failings identified in the Hackitt Review, Building a Safer Future - including poor procurement and commercial practice, and an over-focus on profit at the expense of safety and risk mitigation.

The sky's the limit with MCIPS Status

CIPS is commited to supporting individuals to develop and maintain their knowledge in procurement and supply.

MCIPS status indicates your procurement proficiency to other professionals and employers.
